Controversial Hand Involving Midik and Meran; Meran Wins Big Pot

Level 15 : Blinds 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante
Osman Midik
Osman Midik

Alberto Meran was heads-up from the cutoff against Osman Midik in the big blind. The former had bet 25,000 into a 45,000 chip pot on a board of {4-Spades}{a-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} and Midik decided on a raise to 60,000. Meran made the call.

When the {5-Spades} completed the board, Midik then bet 100,000. This is where things got a little bit heated. Meran put 100,000 to denote a call but when Midik turned over {4-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}, Meren let go of his cards on to the table before picking them back up and turning them over to show {k-Spades}{9-Clubs} for the winner. As his hand wasn't in the muck, his call stood. Midik was not happy about, as the floor was called.

The ruling was made and Meran wins a big pot to send himself across the half-million chip mark.
