Beg Triples Up

Level 27 : 50,000/75,000, 75,000 ante
Furkan Beg
Furkan Beg

Furkan Beg shoved his final 165,000 from the cutoff, which represented a little over two big blinds. Vittorio Maugini raised the minimum from the button and the blinds folded.

Furkan Beg: {a-Spades}{9-Hearts}
Vittorio Maugini: {j-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}

Beg was in prime position to stick around and did as the board ran out {3-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{2-Spades}{2-Clubs}.

With 200,000 coming from the blinds and antes, Beg more than tripled his stack and is now at 530,000.

With the blinds going up to 50,000/100,000/100,000 and the average stack at just over 14 big blinds, it's truly anybody's title to win.

Konstantinos Nanos Eliminated in 8th Place ($6,250)

Level 27 : Blinds 50,000/75,000, 75,000 ante
Konstantinos Nanos
Konstantinos Nanos

Vittorio Maugini limped 75,000 from under the gun before Konstantinos Nanos moved all in from early position for 260,000. Action folded around to Arnaud Enselme who called in the small blind. Maugini also called.

The flop came {10-Spades}{6-Clubs}{2-Hearts} and Enselme led out for 300,000. Maugini quickly folded.

Konstantinos Nanos: {a-Hearts}{k-Spades}
Arnaud Enselme: {j-Clubs}{10-Clubs}

Nanos was facing elimination as Enselme had flopped top pair. The turn and the river didn't help Nanos as it came {5-Diamonds} and the {3-Hearts} to eliminate him from the tournament in eight place for $6,250.

Butuc On a Heater, Doubles Up with Pocket Kings vs. Pocket Jacks

Level 27 : Blinds 50,000/75,000, 75,000 ante
Gheorghe Butuc
Gheorghe Butuc

Vittorio Maugini called from early position and Ercan Hasan raised to 200,000 from the cutoff. After using a time bank card, Gheorghe Butuc shoved for 615,000 from the big blind. Following a fold from Maugini and confirmation of the amount of Butuc's shove, Hasan made the call.

Gheorghe Butuc: {k-Diamonds}{k-Spades}
Ercan Hasan: {j-Clubs}{j-Hearts}

Much to Hasan's dismay, Butuc was crushing him with pocket kings against his pocket jacks.

Hasan wouldn't improve on the {q-Spades}{9-Hearts}{a-Spades}{q-Clubs}{8-Diamonds} runout and Hasan has gone from 245,000 chips to 1,430,000 chips in just a couple of minutes.

Butuc Doubles Through Maugini

Level 27 : Blinds 50,000/75,000, 75,000 ante

Gheorghe Butuc raised to 220,000 leaving 25,000 behind from early position. Action folded to Vittorio Maugini who three bet to 400,000. Action folded around to Butuc who called.

Gheorghe Butuc: {k-Hearts}{j-Spades}
Vittorio Maugini: {k-Spades}{9-Hearts}

Butuc was at risk but had Maugini dominated. It was a clean runout as it came {k-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{2-Spades}{3-Spades}{5-Clubs} to give Butuc the double up.

Nanos Loses 1/3 of His Stack After Missing His Big Blind

Level 27 : Blinds 50,000/75,000, 75,000 ante

In the first hand back from break, Konstantinos Nanos was the big blind and had to commit 150,000 of his remaining 460,000 chips to fulfill the big blind and the ante.

However, he would not get the opportunity to defend. Despite being on the other side of the rail, he was speaking with someone and was unaware that the tournament had restarted. Although Arnaud Enselme attempted to get his attention, it was too late and his cards had already been mucked.

He then asked the table why nobody tried to get his attention to which only Enselme responded: "I tried."

To add insult to injury, Vittorio Maugini ended up getting a walk in the small blind. Who knows if this is the beginning of the end or a blessing in disguise?

Maugini and Hasan Tangle Again

Level 26 : Blinds 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante

Vittorio Maugini opened for 125,000 from early position and Ercan Hasan called from the cutoff.

"These two can't stop playing with each other!" Furkan Beg said out loud. Hasan replied "He's addicted to me!"

The flop came {q-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{6-Hearts} and Maugini continued for 100,000. Hasan called.

The turn brought the {8-Hearts}, putting a third heart on the board. The Italian fired a second barrel, this time for 175,000. Hasan after 30 seconds, said "500,000" and several seconds went by before the dealer told him that he had to put the chips out in front, which caused the table to have a light laugh.

"You're going to give me the chips anyway!", he replied.

Maugini then said "that bet is way too big" and tossed the cards into the muck.

Koleznev Chips Up With Full House

Level 26 : Blinds 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante

Dmitry Koleznev raised from the hijack for 125,000 and was called by Furkan Beg in the small blind.

The flop came {k-Hearts}{q-Spades}{10-Spades} and action checked through.

The {3-Clubs} was the turn and Beg check-called Koleznev's 150,000 bet.

The river was the {q-Diamonds} and Koleznev down bet to 80,000 when checked to. Beg thought for a bit before making the call. Koleznev showed {q-Hearts}{10-Hearts} for a full house.

Koleznev said to Beg "I thought you'll push" to which Beg said "I should of pushed pre flop" when he showd {j-Diamonds}{j-Hearts} as the chips went to Koleznev.

O'Brien Doubles Up, Butuc Short

Level 26 : Blinds 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante
James O'Brien
James O'Brien

Arnaud Enselme opened to 125,000 from under the gun and James O'Brien shoved his last 515,000 from the cutoff. Gheorghe Butuc, in the big blind, used a time bank chip before shoving for 790,000. Enselme folded and told Butuc: "You saved me!"

James O'Brien: {7-Diamonds}{7-Spades}
Gheorghe Butuc: {a-Hearts}{q-Clubs}

"Woooo! I had sixes!" Enselme exclaimed as the hands were revealed.

With the rest of the table hoping for O'Brien's demise and a $1,250 ladder, the flop came {3-Spades}{8-Hearts}{9-Clubs} and the Irishman stayed ahead.

The {j-Hearts} turn gave Butuc a straight draw but the {3-Hearts} completed the board, giving O'Brien the double up and Butuc assumed the role of short stack at the table.
