Welcome to Day 1b of Event #1: $1,100 $1M Gtd From The Luxon Pay Mediterranean Poker Party
Day 1b coverage of the Luxon Pay Mediterranean Poker Party held at Merit Royal Diamond Hotel and Casino in North Cyprus is about to start.
The name says it all for Event #1: $1,100 MPP Open, it's the opening event on a huge month of festivities here. It's also worth mentioning the guarantee of the first event is a huge $1,000,000.
Players competing in The MPP Open will start with 50,000 chips and will have 18 levels of 40-minutes to amass a big stack to take to Day 2 which will be played on Monday, August 22nd. Players that don't make it have the option of entering once per flight and if needed in one of the final two flights that play out tomorrow, on Sunday.
Just 9 players got through day 1a that played until 3:30 a.m. local time this morning, from a field of 61 players. It's highly unlikely play will go that late in any of the remaining flights, though.
Cards will be in the air at noon, local time with late registration closing at 9.45 p.m. There will be a 15-minute break after every three levels, with the 60-minute dinner break at approximately 7 p.m. local time.
Prestigious events like The One Drop, The PokerNews Cup, and the MPP Main Event will follow the event here in North Cyprus, before it heads into the Triton Series where the best players on the planet will battle in big money stakes tournaments.
