Lone Star Poker Series Day 8
Day 1 Completed
Pedro Rios won his second event here at the Lone Star Poker Series on Friday night as he took down Event #12: The Ultimate Monster NLH for $9,447 to add to his title that he won in Event #6: Limit Omaha 8 Championship.
The Ultimate Monster attracted 102 entries and created a prizepool of $33,150. After almost 13 hours of play it was Rios who overcame a roller coaster final table to win the grand prize.
Heads up play vs Brandon Guzman was particularly rocky as both players looked to be down and out a couple of times before rallying. Rios at one point was down to his final card, before rivering a straight to stay alive and eventually overcoming Guzman.
