Curran Scores a Huge Pot

Level 5 : 500/1,000, 0 ante
Raymond Curran

Robert Valden raised to 2,000 from under the gun. Duc Le and Luis Cruz called and Raymond Curran raised it up to 13,000 from the big blind position. Valden went all-in for 23,000 while Le, Cruz, and Curran called.

Just before the flop was shown, Curran announced that he was all-in for his last 8,000 in chips.

Flop: {j-}{8-}{4-}

With Curran all-in, action was now on Le who made the call. Cruz went all in and Le folded. Cards were on their backs.

Curran: {a-Diamonds}{a-Spades}{k-Clubs}{4-Clubs}

Valden: {q-Hearts}{q-Spades}{j-Spades}{6-Diamonds}

Cruz: {q-}{j-}{10-}{9-}

Curran was ahead with his top pair of Aces but Cruz had the open ended straight draw to put pressure on Curran to hold.

The {3-Hearts} turn and the {8-Spades} river didn't improve anyone and Curran took down the huge pot.

At 400/800, Hayden Fortini flatted from the UTG position, as did Danish Khan, directly on Fortini's left. Action folded around to Jeffrie Rine in the small blind who called and Fendy Price checked her option.

Flop: {7-Spades}{5-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}

The 4 players checked around and the turn card was shown.

Turn: {a-Spades}

Rine checked from the small blind position and Price put a bet of 2,500 out. Fortini and Khan both folded and the decision was now on Rine's shoulders. Rine tanked briefly before making the call.

River: {6-Clubs}

Both players checked and Rine looked like he was ready to toss his cards away as if he was drawing and missed. Price flipped over her hand.

Price: {a-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{3-Spades}{3-Clubs}

With trip threes, Price was pushed the decent sized pot.

Cote Checks It Down

With Joshua Calvert in the small blind and Robert Cote in the big blind, action folded around to Osbaldo Zamora in the hijack position. Zamora limped in, Calvert called, and Cote checked his option as the flop was displayed.

Flop: {10-Spades}{5-Hearts}{k-Spades}

All three players immediately checked and the turn card was shown.

Turn: {6-Spades}

Another quick round of checks and out came the river.

River: {6-Diamonds}

One final round of checks came and all three players put their cards on their backs. The dealer quickly went around the circle looking to connect the dots and find the winning hand with this board.

Cote's hand of {k-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{3-Clubs}{2-Hearts} was the winning hand and the small pot was pushed his direction.
