Nestola Falling Fast
It has not been a good level for Daniel Nestola. His chip stack of nearly 1.2 million had been whittled down to about 850,000 when he got himself involved in another big pot.
It was Ioannis Beris who opened with an under-the-gun raise to 27,000, and Nestola three-bet him to 68,000 on the button. Beris responded by shoving all in for 376,000, and Nestola made the call with his covering stack. It was a coin flip, and Beris' was a small favorite against his opponent's .
The turn of the board made things a little bit sweatier, but the river was clean and safe for Beris. After the last card hit the board, both players spun away from the table with emotional reactions. For Beris' part, it was a celebratory lap around the stage with his fists pumping.
Nestola, however, was left to pace slowly away as he cursed his luck and mumbled to himself in his native German. He's been set all the way back to about 470,000 now, a fact which he is none too pleased with as he counts down his own stack.
