Hicks Cracks Aces

Level 29 : 60,000/120,000, 15,000 ante
Nick Hicks
Nick Hicks

Nick Hicks has just helped himself to a 1,430,000 pot after cracking the aces of Jakob Michalak.

Michalak opened to 250,000 with the {A-Diamonds}{A-Spades} and was called by Nick Hicks with the {K-Spades}{J-Diamonds}. The {J-Clubs}{J-Spades}{6-Spades} flop was the dream flop for Hicks, but he decided to slow play his trip jacks and he checked behind when Michalak failed to fire a continuation bet. Hicks then led for 250,000 on the {9-Hearts} turn and Michalak called. The {Q-Hearts} river completed the board and Hicks fired an 800,000 bet. Michalak called and saw that his hand was now second best.

Nick Hicks raised to 250,000 in the first hand, everyone folded and Hicks won the blinds and antes.

Hicks raised to 250,000 in the second hand too, holding {3-Clubs}{3-Spades}. Alban Juen three-bet to 675,000 from the small blind with {J-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} and Hicks made the call to see a flop of {7-Clubs}{A-Clubs}{9-Clubs}. Juen fired 755,000 and that was enough to get Hicks off his pair.

Gwendonline Janot raised to 300,000 in the small blind with {K-Hearts}{7-Clubs} and Xavier El Fassy folded {9-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} in the big blind.

There is a stream with the hole cards being shown on a 30 minute delay and as soon as we get the link for that, we will share it with you.

Meanwhile, both last night and this morning the six players have been battling out a deal, which has been confirmed to us as follows:
