Whyte check-raised to 500,000 versus Lai's continuation bet of 100,000 on the 10♠4♠3♦ flop, leaving himself only 35,000 behind. Lai called mistakenly thinking Whyte had moved all-in and almost turned over his hand before being informed Whyte had chips left.

Whyte put his last 35,000 in the middle on the 2♠ turn and Lai called.

Scott's threes remained ahead up until the turn on 10♦6♣4♥4♠, although it did bring some counterfeit outs. The A♠ river saw Hanaphy hit top pair, however, and he won the pot.

After the count, Scott was left with just 45,000 chips, which he got in the next hand versus the same opponent.
