The Shoe Does Not Fit Stepuchin

Level 5 : Blinds 100/300, 300 ante
Frank Stepuchin
Frank Stepuchin

Frank Stepuchin raised to 700 from under the gun and button Daniel Tighe put in a three-bet to 2,500. Stepuchin called, and the two were off to a flop.

The {8-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} flop saw Tighe continuation-bet for 1,500 after a check from Stepuchin. Stepuchin then put in the check-raise to 4,700. which Tighe called.

The {j-Diamonds} saw Stepuchin slowed down as he opted for a check, after which Tighe put out a bet of 10,000. Stepuchin inquired about his opponent's shoes and took a quick peek under the table. Evidently, he found something there to convince him to fold, as he let his hand go a few moments later.

Tighe raked in the pot and showed his opponent that his shoe-reading abilities still have room for improvement, as he tabled the {5-Hearts}{2-Hearts}.
