Harper Finds Value With Aces Up
Nader Wahdan opened to 800 and received calls from a player in middle position, Terry Harper in the cutoff, and the player in the big blind. The flop came and the big blind and Wahdan checked. The player in middle position bet 1,400, getting a call from Harper, a fold from the big blind, and a call from Wahdan.
The turn came and Wahdan checked to the player in middle position who fired another bet of 3,000. Harper and Wahdan both called.
The river came and Wahdan and the player in middle position checked. Harper threw in a bet of 3,000 and Wahdan quickly folded. The middle-position player thought for a while and ultimately made the call.
"Well, if you have to think about it that long I guess I'm good," Harper said as he turned over for the nuts. His opponent simultaneously showed which was the second-best hand among the two all along and Harper collected the chips, adding them to his stack.
