Welcome to Day 1c of HPT Golden Gates Main Event
It’s time for Day 1c of HPT Golden Gates $1,100 Main Event.
Two of four initial flights have been completed with a total of 210 entries from those two flights - Day 1a on Wednesday saw 88 runners and yesterday's Day 1b got 128. Today’s flight is sure to surpass those figures with action set to begin at noon local time.
The chip leader through the first two days is David Berger who finished Day 1b with an eye-popping stack of 628,000. He is well clear of the rest of the field with only three other players, Michael Sherry (357,500), Day 1a chip leader Greg Geller (336,000), and Neil Blumenfield (320,500) taking stacks of over 300,000 into Day 2.
Day 1c has the same structure as the first two flights with starting stacks of 30,000 and 40-minute levels. Blinds begin at 100/100 and play will see the completion of 15 levels. There will be breaks at the completion of every three levels with a one-hour dinner break at the end of Level 9 at approximately 6:30 p.m. local time. Players have the option of unlimited re-entries and the registration period will remain open until the end of the dinner break at roughly 7:30 p.m.
Players such as Mike Englert, Chris Moon, Ben Keeline, and Dapo Ajayi are among those to have played in an earlier edition and not advance thus far. It is likely to see some or all of those players and many more coming in for the final two flights. PokerNews will be on hand to relay all the ensuing trials and tribulations as the day unfolds.
