Level 8 : 400/800, 800 ante
Ravi Raghavan
Ravi Raghavan

A player from late position opened action and Ravi Raghavan jammed for 12,600 on the button getting a call from the initial raiser.

Ravi Raghavan: {10-Clubs}{10-Spades}
Opponent: {a-Spades}{k-Spades}

Raghavan was ahead but had to dodge two overcards as the flop fell {3-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{j-Spades}.

The dealer turned the {7-Clubs} and Raghavan doubled up after the board paired with the {6-Hearts} river.

Our updates may be focused on the keystone $1,650 Main Event, but this is not the only tournament that’s played out during the latest Heartland Poker Tour (HPT) Ameristar East Chicago stop.

There has been a slew of side events all week long including Event #5: $300 No-Limit Hold’em Deepstack Bounty ($100 bounties), a tournament that drew 140 runners and created a $21,700 prize pool.

The top 18 got paid including Jay Crain (10th - $521), Sandra Morse (11th - $521), Brad Sailor (16th - $347), Homi Syodia (17th - $347), and Randel Vanderhyden (18th - $347).

The tournament came to an end when the final two players – Yuryi Moskovoy and Tomas Stundzia – worked a deal that saw the former claim the title and a smooth $5,000 in prize money. The latter secured $4,506 for finishing in second place.

Vazanellis Rivers Broadway and Gets Paid

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante
George Vazanellis
George Vazanellis

There was heads up action between George Vazanellis who sat under the gun and his opponent from middle position.

The board read {q-Hearts}{x-}{7-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}{a-Clubs} and with 25,000 already in the middle, Vazanellis raised his opponents 20,000 bet to 40,000.

Vazanellis's opponent went into the tank for sometime before talking himself into making the call.

Vazanellis tabled {j-Spades}{10-Clubs} and his opponent tossed his hand into the muck exposing {7-Hearts}{x-}.
