Chris Moneymaker Eliminated in 4th Place ($10,080) (full)

Level 22 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante
Chris Moneymaker - 4th Place
Chris Moneymaker - 4th Place

Chris Moneymaker continued his epic slide right out of the tournament. It almost seemed there was nothing he could do to change his fate. He lost somewhere close to 600,000 chips in about 45 minutes after the dinner break.

During his last stand he shoved three times, and the third time was the curse.

First he was under the gun, shoved and everyone folded.

Second, he was in the big blind and shoved on David Lackey when Lackey limped the small blind. Lackey folded.

The third time, the action folded to him in the small blind. He peeled {a-Spades}{10-Clubs} and paused for a second. He shoved all in for 145,000 and Mike Sites snap called. Sites had {a-Hearts}{k-Hearts} and had Moneymaker dominated.

The board ran out {a-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{6-Spades}, teasing Moneymaker with the possibility of a flush, but ultimately closing the door and ending his main event run.

Denny Grizzle Eliminated in 5th Place ($7,672), Lackey Breaks 1 Million (full)

Level 21 : 60,000/120,000, 1,000 ante
Denny Grizzle - 5th Place
Denny Grizzle - 5th Place

Denny Grizzle's main event came to an end in fifth place. After he accumulated some chips through unanswered all ins, he finally ran into David Lackey, who can't miss as of late.

Lackey raised to 28,000 preflop and Grizzle called from the big blind. The flop was {10-Spades}{9-Clubs}{8-Spades} and Grizzle checked. Lackey bet 40,000 and the action was back on Grizzle. He tanked for about 30 seconds, then shoved all in. Lackey didn't hesitate too long before calling.

Grizzle flopped a straight with {q-Hearts}{j-Hearts} and Lackey was behind with {10-Hearts}{8-Hearts}. He didn't stay behind for long as the {8-Diamonds} hit the turn, giving Lackey a full house. The river was irrelevant and Lackey busted Grizzle in fifth place.

More Grizzle Shoves, Still No Answers from Moneymaker (full)

Level 21 : 60,000/120,000, 1,000 ante

David Lackey is now the chip leader after a series of hands.

Denny Grizzle continues to shove if he enters a pot and, thus far, remains unscathed.

Chris Moneymaker has had a horrendous level since coming back from dinner, losing close to 400,000.

David Lackey has been gathering chips in between the Grizzle shoves.

On this hand, Lackey was heads up with Chris Chapman. Chapman opened the action to 25,000 and Lackey reraised to 70,000. Chapman called.

On the {3-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{9-Clubs} flop, Chapman checked. Lackey bet 100,000 and Chapman folded.

After Dinner Action (full)

Level 21 : 60,000/120,000, 1,000 ante

For the first few hands after dinner, there was no action outside of a couple unanswered Denny Grizzle shoves.

Then Chris Moneymaker started seeing some flops, two of them against Mike Sites and some chips started moving,

On one hand, Moneymaker limped the small blind and Sites seemed to be preparing a raise before he checked. The two players saw the flop of {4-Spades}{7-Spades}{10-Clubs} and Moneymaker led for 15,000. Site quickly made it 50,000 and Moneymaker folded.

On another hand, Moneymaker made it 25,000 preflop and Sites and Chris Chapman both called. The flop was {7-Spades}{9-Hearts}{7-Hearts} and Chapman checked. Moneymaker bet 40,000 and Sites slid out a raise, making it 140,000. Chapman and Moneymaker quickly folded.

Chapman Gets There on the River, Updated Counts From the Final 5 (full)

Level 20 : 50,000/100,000, 1,000 ante

Mike Sites just lost a huge pot when his two pair was outdrawn on the river by Chris Chapman.

The two players were heads up and on the turn, Sites check-raised Chapman. The board read {j-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} and Sites checked to Chapman who bet 30,000. Sites then slid out a stack of 5,000 chips totaling 100,000. Chapman called.

On the river, when the {7-Diamonds} hit, Sites shoved all in, putting the rest of Chapman's 185,000 at risk should he call. Chapman did call and showed a straight with {10-}{8-}. Sites mucked {9-}{8-} face up and lost the huge pot.
