Fourteen qualifiers, a quarter-final round, and a semi-final round conducted over the last 20 days have finally led to this moment when the inaugural PokerNews Cup will be awarded on Global Poker in the SC 250,000 Final.

Global Poker is reimagining ways for players to enjoy the game. It’s a social poker platform that emphasizes the friendly, fun interactions that make poker enjoyable. It uses tokens for gameplay, with no purchase or downloads necessary in order to take part. There are two types of play on Global Poker: with gold coins, which are gifted after registering an account, and sweeps coins that are given out in daily bonuses, competitions, and promotions. Sweeps coins can be redeemed for cash prizes.

The 54 players who have made it to the PokerNews Cup SC 250,000 Final can collect 100,000 free SC when play begins at 5 p.m. ET. They include PokerNews Stream Team member Anthony “Acepoker444” Caldiero, who earned his seat in a qualifier yesterday and will be streaming the event on his Twitch channel, as well as WSOP bracelet winner David “RUeTaMa” Moses who finished atop the overall SC leaderboard during the qualifiers. “Chipsnqueso” and “Penneltenn” also earned their tournament entry in a PokerNews contest.

The PokerNews Cup final is the culmination of a partnership between PokerNews and the online social site. Only one player will lift the virtual cup at the end of the day, and they'll have plenty of fun doing it. And that, Global Poker understands, is what makes the game special. PokerNews will be following along and providing live updates of all the action throughout the day.
