Girardet Leads Final 152 as Money Bubble Approaces in Day 2 of Aix-les-Bains Main Event
The final starting flights of the France Poker Series Aix-les-Bain Main Event (hosted by PokerStars) concluded last night, bringing the total number of entrants up to 660 — a substantial increase over last year's 475 entrants.
By the time play finished inside the Casino Grand Cercle, it was Quentin Girardet who emerged as the overall tournament chip leader after bagging up a massive stack worth 420,000. Hot on his heels is French poker pro Adel Naoun, who ended with 418,000 and was the only other player to breach the 400k mark.

Plenty of notables are still in the hunt, including streamer Pierre-Alexis Bizot (50,000), Fabian Rolli (160,000), PokerStars ambassador Benjamin Bruneteaux (163,000), biathlete Florent Claude (210,000), WSOP bracelet winner Shai Zurr, and EPT Main Event champion Simon Wiciak, who enters Day 2 with 237,000 and will be looking to run deep and add to his over $1,400,000 in live-tournament earnings.
Play is scheduled to get under way at 1 p.m. local time and will start on Level 15, which features 2,000/4,000 blinds with a 4,000 big-blind ante. Level lengths will be increased to 50-minutes each and the playing schedule for Day 2 will be announced after the tournament gets underway.
