Burbett Takes a Pot From Kalet

Level 1 : Blinds 100/100, 0 ante

Anthony Burbett limped in from under the gun and David Kalet raised to 600 from middle position. The rest of the table got out of the way and action was heads up.

The flop was {9-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{j-Spades} and Kalet bet 600. Burbett raised to 1,200 and Kalet called to see {2-Diamonds} on the turn.

Both players checked the turn and the river was {a-Diamonds}. Burbett fired 1,500 and then called when Kalet raised to 3,000. Kalet turned over {a-Hearts}{j-Hearts} for aces and jacks, but Burbett showed {a-Spades}{q-Clubs} and took the pot with aces and queens.

Golden Nugget
The Grand Ballroom

Those that didn’t punch their ticket prior to this weekend had the opportunity to compete in one of four cash buy-in qualifiers at the Golden Nugget for their spot in Sunday’s event. The last of which was the Tag Team Championship, where Mike Uzi and Terry Jaglarsky beat a field of 87 teams to score a seat and 10,000 extra bonus chips for today.

Players will sit down with a stack of chips that is based on how many times they qualified for the tournament. Blinds will increase every 30 minutes throughout the day and the one-day tournament will continue until a winner is declared.

FPN will also provide live coverage throughout the day on their Facebook and YouTube pages.
