Kamel Check-Raises Ivey

Level 6 : 200/400, 50 ante

Tamer Kamel, who made the final table of the EPT London Main Event, limped in from the small blind, and Phil Ivey instantly raised to 1,200 out of the big blind. Kamel called, and the dealer fanned {8-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}{a-Spades}.

Kamel checked, Ivey flicked out another 1,200, and Kamel called.

The turn was the {5-Hearts}, Kamel checked again, and Ivey tossed out 3,000. Kamel reached for chips, check-raising to 7,000, and the dealer announced, "Raise."

Ivey perked up.

"Raise," the dealer repeated.

Ivey removed his headphones.

"Raise," the dealer echoed a third and final time.

"Oh," Ivey blurted. "I know."

He put his headphones back on, thought for less than 20 seconds, then slid his cards into the muck.
