Defending Champion Kurganov Leads Into Day 2
Welcome back for Day 2 of the €25,000 High Roller at the 2013 PokerStars and Monte-Carlo® Casino EPT Grand Final. Yesterday's Day 1 saw defending champion Igor Kurganov storm out to the chip lead, and that's where he finished the day with 417,500 in chips. Behind him are Benny Spindler with 387,400 and Tony Gregg with 384,500.
Last year's field for this event drew 133 entries coming from 117 players and 16 re-entries, but this year's field has already far surpassed that with registration and re-entry open until the start of play today. Last night, the board read 150 total entries when play ended.
Outside of Kurganov, Spindler and Gregg, some of the other notables still remaining are Sorel Mizzi, Antonio Esfandiari, Alex Bilokur, Marvin Rettenmaier, Dan O'Brien and Isaac Haxton.
Once registration closes in a bit and the final numbers are received, we'll be posting them right here on PokerNews, so be sure to stay tuned. The cards will be in the air at 12 p.m. CET, so stay tuned for the action.
