Helppi Winswith the Better Trips

Level 18 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante

Stephen Chidwick opened the button for 105,000 and found one customer; Juha Helppi in the big blind called.

On {4-Clubs}{5-Spades}{8-Hearts} Helppi checked to Chidwick. The Brit made a 150,000 continuation bet and Helppi quickly raised to 375,000. Chidwick made the call and both players checked when the board paired with the {8-Diamonds} on the turn.

The river came the {10-Hearts} and Helppi thought for some time before betting 300,000. Chidwick called rather quickly.

Helppi showed {8-Spades}{J-Hearts} for trips with a jack kicker. Chidwick flashed the {8-Clubs} before mucking.

Soshnikov Shoves

Level 18 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante

Juha Helppi raised it up to 100,000 from the cut off before the decision fell back on Ivan Soshnikov on the button. He clarified with the dealer that the bet was a raise before announcing all in totalling 1,030,000 in chips. The blinds got out of the way with the action getting back to Helppi.

He deliberated for almost a minute before finally mucking his hand.

Chop It Up!

Level 18 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante

Action folded to Ivan Soshnikov in the small blind. He had just the other short stack to beat, and shoved all in. Brian Roberts smiled while checking his cards, and made the call rather quickly.

Ivan Soshnikov: {K-Spades}{4-Diamonds}
Brian Roberts: {K-Hearts}{3-Hearts}

"Chop is fine, I'll just go ahead and stack these" said Roberts referring to his own stack with confidence. "I like this board" he added after the {Q-Clubs}{Q-Spades}{Q-Diamonds} on the flop. The {5-Hearts} on the turn and {5-Diamonds} on the river gave both the same full house and they somewhat evenly divided the antes.

Chidwick Takes It Down

Level 17 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

The action folded around to Vladimir Troyanovskiy in the small blind who raised it up to 110,000. Stephen Chidwick made the call from the big blind and both players watched the flop come down {7-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}.

Troyanovskiy led out for another 110,000 which was called before both players checked after the turn produced the {k-Spades}.

The {2-Clubs} completed the board and Troyanovskiy checked. Chidwick stared down his opponent before reaching for his chips and betting out 300,000. Troyanovskiy sat motionless for a minute before finally releasing his hand into the muck.

Soshnikov Doubles Through Helppi

Level 17 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

Action folded to Juha Helppi in the small blind. The Fin put on his sunglasses, peeked at his cards, and shoved all in by placing a big pile of green 100,000 chips into the middle. Soshnikov smiled, checked his cards, and called.

Juha Helppi: {Q-Clubs}{8-Spades}
Ivan Soshnikov: {A-Spades}{9-Diamonds}

The {K-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{2-Clubs} reduced Helppi's outs to bust his neighbor, and the {J-Hearts} on the turn didn't help either. The {7-Spades} on the river didn't pair up Helppi either and wasn't the right card to do Soshnikov any damage. Double up!

Chidwick Doubles Through Soshnikov

Level 17 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

Ivan Soshnikov raised it up to 80,000 from middle position. The action fell on Stephen Chidwick on the small blind who moved all in for 770,000 which was enough to force Paul Newey to fold his big blind. With the decision back on Soshnikov, he mumbled to himself before hesitantly making the call.

Chidwick: {q-Diamonds}{q-Spades}
Soshnikov: {9-Spades}{9-Diamonds}

The board ran out {a-Spades}{j-Spades}{a-Hearts}{8-Spades}{5-Diamonds} to see Chidwick lead from start to finish as he took down the pot. He now has 1,615,000 in chips.

Level 17 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante
Leonid Markin
Leonid Markin

Juha Helppi opened the hijack to 80,000 and his next door neighbor Ivan Soshnikov three bet to 205,000 from the cutoff. Brian Roberts folded his button but Leonid Markin in the small blind had far bigger plans. Markin four bet to 475,000 and Troyanovskiy quickly folded his big blind.

Action was on Helppi who didn't need much time to make up his mind; all in for 2,025,000. Soshnikov folded and Markin asked for a count. After a minute or three of thinking he folded, throwing {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts} open into the muck.

Roberts Doubles Through Soshnikov

Level 17 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

The action folded around to Ivan Soshnikov on the button who raised it up to 100,000. The decision was then on Brian Roberts who thought about his decision for a moment before moving all in for his last 200,000 in chips. Leonid Markin folded his big blind and Soshnikov made the quick call.

Soshnikov: {a-Spades}{6-Clubs}
Roberts: {j-Diamonds}{10-Spades}

Roberts was behind pre flop but would come out victorious after the board ran out {8-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{q-Clubs}{6-Hearts} to see him make a pair of jacks to win the hand.
