Shorr Loses to Rivered Queen

Level 13 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

The player in the hijack opened to 5,000 and two positions over at the button it was Shannon Shorr who made it 12,000. Both blinds folded, the hijack made the call.

The flop came {A-Spades}{2-Spades}{10-Diamonds} and the hijack checked to Shorr. Shorr made a bet of 7,500 and instantly called the shove that followed for 47,000. The hijack was in a world of pain holding {A-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}, Shorr showed {A-Clubs}{K-Hearts}.

The {8-Clubs} on the turn was of no interest to both parties involved, but the {Q-Hearts} on the river made all the difference. Shorr still has lots of chips left, no reason for concerns just yet.

Shorr's neighbor Bram Haenraets, who did well in both EPT's this year (9th in Barcelona for €92,800, 21st in London for £17,300), isn't having such a good day. He started out with a decent stack but hasn't won many hands so far he told us. The table might be of concern to the Dutch player as well, besides Shorr it's also the table where the likes of Olivier Busquet, Thomas Muehloecker, and Alexander Roumeliotis play their hands.
