Simon Ravnsbaek Eliminated in 16th Place (€37,250)

Level 22 : 12,000/24,000, 3,000 ante
Simon Ravnsbaek
Simon Ravnsbaek

Simon Ravnsbaek moved all in for 184,000 from under the gun and was called by Andrey Zaichenko in middle position.

Ravnsbaek: {q-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}
Zaichenko: {a-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}

The board ran out {q-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{3-Spades}{9-Diamonds} giving Ravnsbaek the double up with a set of queens.

Several hands later and the two would clash again.

Zaichenko would raise to 53,000 from under the gun as the action folded around to Ravnsbaek in the small blind. He would instantly move all in for around 400,000 in chips and get snap called by Zaichenko after the big blind released his hand.

Zaichenko: {j-Hearts}{j-Clubs}
Ravnsbaek: {8-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}

This time Ravnsbaek was in trouble with the under pair and would not improve as the board ran out {6-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{k-Hearts}{a-Clubs}{3-Spades} to see him finish in 16th place.

The Penultimate Redraw

Level 22 : 12,000/24,000, 3,000 ante

There are 16 players left so there is a redraw. The next redraw will be with 9 players left. We'll bring you the table draw for the final two tables as soon as its available.

Marvin Rettenmaier Eliminated by Andrey Zaichenko

Level 22 : 12,000/24,000, 3,000 ante

Andrey Zaichenko, minutes after doubling up through Dan Shak, opened to 54,000. Marvin Rettenmaier in the big blind made it 144,000 to go. Zaichenko wanted to click back and made it 230,000. A little later he was forced to make it 234,000 and he did just that by adding four 1,000 chips.

Marvin Rettenmaier, who won this event a couple of years ago, thought for a bit before shoving all in. Zaichenko snap called.

Marvin Rettenmaier: {A-Spades}{K-Diamonds}
Andrey Zaichenko: {A-Diamonds}{A-Hearts}

The flop gave Rettenmaier some chop outs: {2-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}. "Ohhh!" he said with a smile. The {10-Spades} on the turn and {J-Diamonds} on the river didn't fill up his straight though and Rettenmaier left in 17th place.

Zaichenko Doubles through Shak

Level 21 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

Dan Shak had 135,000 in front of him in the small blind and Andrey Zaichenko under the gun had 461,000 and the red and black all in triangle in front of him. Schemion wasn't involved, but Shak told the German "You would call for sure!"

Shak, still contemplating his decision, cut out the calling chips and counted what he would have left if he called and lost. "I don't race well. I could be dominated. Or I could be dominating" he laughed. Eventually he did call.

Andrey Zaichenko: {A-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}
Dan Shak: {9-Hearts}{9-Clubs}

Zaichenko sighed after he bricked the flop {5-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}. The {K-Clubs} on the turn gave him some more outs but it would be one of his original outs he would hit on the river {A-Diamonds}. "Yes!" said Zaichenko while making a little fist pump.

Level 21 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

The table folded around to Clavio Anzalone who moved all in for his remaining 231,000 in chips. The decision fell on Oleksii Khoroshenin who slowly peeled his cards before making the call.

Anzalone: {3-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}
Khoroshenin: {a-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}

The board ran out {4-Spades}{3-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{k-Hearts}{6-Clubs} to see Anzalone improve to a set on the flop as he doubles up to 485,000 in chips.

Vieira Doesn't Call

Level 21 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

Joao Vieira opened to 40,000 under the gun on the short handed table and Senh Man Ung made the call from the big blind with just 171,000 behind. Vieira asked him how much Ung had behind and the fine Brit told him so.

Both players checked the {J-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{8-Spades} flop and Ung bet out 50,000 on the {3-Hearts} turn. Vieira made the call after some thinking.

The river came the {2-Diamonds} and Ung moved all in. Vieira asked for a count and wouldn't you know it, it was 121,000 exactly. Vieira went into the tank for minutes, cut out the chips to call, put them back into his stack, cut them out again, but eventually decided against calling the six big blind shove.

Shak Doubles Through Astapau

Level 21 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante
Dan Shak
Dan Shak

The action started with Ole Schemion opening to 45,000 from under the gun. He was called by Anton Astapau in the cut off as well as Dan Shak on the big blind.

The flop came down {9-Hearts}{7-Spades}{9-Diamonds} and all three players opted to check. The dealer then produced the {8-Spades} on the turn and Shak checked once more. Schemion reached for his chips and slid out 88,000. Astapau made the call before Shak moved all in for 675,000 in chips.

Shemion was taken back by the raise, and folded rather disappointingly. Astapua asked for a count, before deliberating over his decision for a minute. He finally made the call and the cards were tabled.

Astapau: {10-Clubs}{9-Clubs}
Shak: {k-Diamonds}{9-Spades}

“Aces! Aces!” cheered Schemion, who had folded a pair of aces and was happy to see both players turn over trip nines.

The dealer then dropped the {a-Clubs} on the river to complete the board. Schemion couldn’t help but laugh at the situation. Shak had won the hand with the better kicker and moves up to 1.6 million in chips. Astapau drops down to 457,000 in chips.
