Schemion Takes One from Anzalone

Level 23 : 15,000/30,000, 4,000 ante

Ole Schemion opened the cutoff for 66,000 and Clavio Anzalone made it 140,000 from the small blind. Schemion called and the two of them saw a flop.

Anzalone bet 80,000 on {4-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} and Schemion raised to 175,000. Anazalone made the call, but check folded to Schemion's all in on the {A-Spades} on the turn.

Vieira Doubles Through Anzalone

Level 23 : 15,000/30,000, 4,000 ante

The action folded around to Joao Vieira in the hijack who moved all in for his remaining 226,000 in chips. Clavio Anzalone then made the call from the big blind before both players tabled their cards.

Anzalone: {8-Diamonds}{8-Spades}
Vieira: {a-Diamonds}{5-Spades}

Vieira was at risk against the pair of eights until the board ran out {k-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{a-Hearts}{q-Clubs}. He would spike an ace on the turn to take the lead before eventually winning the hand.

Khoroshenin Clocked

Level 23 : 15,000/30,000, 4,000 ante

Dan Shak opened for 80,000 from the cutoff and Oleksii Khoroshenin on the button made the call. Deadman folded his small blind but Laurynas Levinskas in the big blind did make the call.

Action checked to Khoroshenin on {6-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{9-Spades} and the EPT Vienna winner bet 125,000. Just Levinskas made the call, Shak folded.

Both players checked the {A-Clubs} on the turn and the {4-Spades} fell on the river. Levinskas bet out 260,000 with just 240,000 behind and Khoroshenin had the option. He thought long and hard and eventually Levinskas called the clock on him. With about seven seconds left he made the call and Levinskas showed {3-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}. Khoroshenin tabled {A-Hearts}{Q-Spades} and took it down.

Ung Doubles through Vieira

Level 22 : 12,000/24,000, 3,000 ante

Francois Billard opened to 52,000 from the hijack and Joao Vieira next over in the cutoff raised all in for 574,000. Senh Man Ung in the big blind wasted no time calling all in for 276,000 exact. Billard asked for both counts, but eventually folded with some frustration on his face.

Joao Vieira: {K-Spades}{Q-Hearts}
Senh Man Ung: {K-Hearts}{K-Clubs}

The {2-Spades}{4-Spades}{10-Hearts} brought Vieira some back door outs and the {Q-Clubs} on the turn still left the door open a little. The {J-Diamonds} on the river was a blank though and Ung doubled.

Anton Astapau Eliminated in 14th Place (€41,790)

Level 22 : 12,000/24,000, 3,000 ante
Anton Astapau
Anton Astapau

Ole Schemion opened for 53,000 from the hijack and Anton Astapau in the big blind was the only caller. Schemion asked how much Astapau had roughly, and the man from Belarus said he had about 560,000 to start the hand.

The flop came {Q-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} and Astapau checked to Schemion. The German super star bet 55,000 and Astapau moved in rather quickly. "I need a count" said Schemion. It was 516,000 total for Schemion so he needed to add 461,000. After a couple more seconds Schemion picked up a big stack of 25,000 chips and put them in the middle.

Ole Schemion: {10-Spades}{Q-Spades}
Anton Astapau: {9-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}

The {3-Clubs} on the turn was a blank so Astapau really needed some help on the river. There were still enough cards that would secure him the double up, but the {Q-Clubs} that completed the board wasn't one of them.

"Olééé, Olé, Olé, Oléééé!" shouted Andrey Zaichenko from the other table like he was in some soccer stadium. Ole just shook hands with Astapau, smiled, and started stacking. He's been doing so much of that the last couple of months, let's hope he doesn't get
arthritis.

Astapau takes home €41,790. The remaining 13 players are now guaranteed €46,400.

Clavio Anzalone Nearly Doubles

Level 22 : 12,000/24,000, 3,000 ante

Clavio Anzalone opened under the gun for 55,000 and Senh Man Ung in the big blind was the sole caller. Ung checked to his neighbor on {10-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{2-Spades} and the initial raiser fired 65,000 into the pot. Ung now check raised to 125,000, and was forced to make it 5,000 more not much later. Anzalone made the call.

The {9-Spades} fell on the turn and Ung picked up a big stack of 25,000 chips and put them forward. Anzalone, with a total stack of 233,000, said call and flipped open his {A-Spades}{10-Diamonds} as he thought he called all in. Ung flipped over his {K-Spades}{10-Hearts} as well but it turned out he had only bet 175,000 so it wasn't even an official all in.

The floor ruled passive action for the river as the 175,000 bet stood and both players had no option for the river. The river came the {4-Spades} and so Ung lost just 175,000 and not 233,000. Anzalone in the meantime nearly doubled.

Igor Yaroshevskyy Eliminated in 15th Place (€41,790)

Level 22 : 12,000/24,000, 3,000 ante
Igor Yaroshevskyy
Igor Yaroshevskyy

"All in and a call!" we heard over from table one. Igor Yaroshevskyy and Viacheslav Goryachev had their chips in the middle. We're not hundred percent sure when the chips went in but Yaroshevskyy had {10-Spades}{7-Clubs} while Viacheslav Goryachev had {K-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs} and both had a pair on {5-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}{5-Spades}. The {4-Hearts} on the river was a blank and Yaroshevskyy, who was the chip leader after Day 1, was eliminated from the tournament.
