Luca Continues to Win

Level 25 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante

Ivan Luca has been chipping up nicely in this level, because even though we haven't seen any big pots he's now up to 4.6 million chips. That is 700,000 more than his nearest competitor, Nick Petrangelo.

Just now Luca raised to 135,000 before the flop and Igor Yaroshevskyy called from the big blind. On a {Q-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds} board the hand was checked down and Luca bet 310,000 on the river.

Yaroshevskyy tanked for several minutes and ultimately he folded his cards.

Petrangelo Takes a Small One

Level 25 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante

Ivan Luca opened the cutoff for 110,000 and small blind Nick Petrangelo and big blind Charles Carrel both called.

All three of them checked on {8-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{9-Clubs} and the {4-Clubs} hit the turn. Petrangelo lead out for 280,000 and Carrel called, Luca folded.

The {7-Spades} completed the board and Petrangelo bet 250,000. Carrel thought for quite some time before releasing his hand into the muck.

The Slowest Level so Far

Level 25 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante

The pace has slowed down significantly in the first half of this level, as we haven't even seen a turn card yet. The only player that made a move was Artem Metalidi, who moved all in over in opening raise from Nick Petrangelo.

Big Bet Poker From Luca

Level 24 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante
Ivan Luca
Ivan Luca

Ivan Luca raised before the flop and Charles Carrel was his only caller after which the flop bought out {K-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}.

On the flop both players checked and Luca fired out 156,000 on the turn when the {8-Hearts} popped up. Carrel made the call and on the river the {5-Clubs} hit.

Luca started putting together a huge bet, and ultimately he slid forward 899,000.

Carrel immediately leaned forward onto the table, counted out his remaining stack in case he would call and lose, and two minutes later he did just that.

When Carrel called Luca showed {4-Spades}{4-Hearts} for a flopped set, and the Argentinian now sits on 3.9 million chips. With that Luca now holds the chip lead with seven players remaining.

Sylvain Loosli Eliminated in 8th Place (€75,000)

Level 24 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante
Sylvain Loosli
Sylvain Loosli

Ivan Luca opened for 88,000 and Nick Petrangelo made the call from the button.

"How much you got mate" Charles Carrel asked his neighbor Sylvain Loosli. Loosli counted out just under 500,000 and Carrel made the call from the small blind. Now the decision was on Loosli in the big blind, and he shoved all in for 496,000 total.

Initial raiser Luca and Petrangelo folded, Carrel made the call.

Sylvain Loosli: {A-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}
Charles Carrel: {A-Clubs}{10-Clubs}

The flop was good for Loosli with {Q-Spades}{8-Spades}{3-Clubs}. The {9-Clubs} turn was about as good as they could come for Carrel, giving him clubs and jacks to win the hand. The {K-Clubs} on the river sealed Loosli's fate, the former November Niner exited in 8th place.

The remaining seven players are guaranteed six figures from now on; €102,000.
