Levrini Gambles and Doubles

Level 5 : 150/300, 25 ante
Gino Levrini
Gino Levrini

We picked up the action on the turn when the board read {4-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{A-Hearts} as Gino Levrini bet 2,150 into his opponent, Anatoly Filatov.

Filatov quickly put his opponent all in for 9,750 total and Levrini went into the tank for a long time.

"I can do this all day," Filatov said with a smile.

"You've been owning me all day," Levrini responded a bit frustrated.

"Okay, I'll gamble," Levrini ultimately said.

"Jack-nine of hearts?" Filatov asked, as if he knew what his opponent was holding.

Levrini did indeed table {J-Hearts}{9-Hearts} and he was in bad shape against Filatov's {K-Hearts}{8-Hearts} for higher flush draw.

Levrini was about to leave the room when the {J-Spades} hit the river and Filatov started laughing.

"I doubled you up three times already now," Filatov added, as Levrini's back up to around 25,000 right now.

A Set For Filatov

Level 5 : 150/300, 25 ante

We just walked into lots of action on Anatoly Filatov’s table, as the board read {A-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}{7-Hearts} on the turn. Three players, Jannick Wrang, Filatov and Simon Higgins all invested 1,750 after unknown action and the river brought the {8-Spades}.

Wrang bet 4,100 from the small blind and Filatov quickly raised it up to 10,000 which got Higgins to fold. Wrang tanked for quite a while before eventually three-betting to 25,000.

“Nine-ten of diamonds?” Filatov asked out loud.

"It's like the only hand I can't beat," Filatov said before adding, "And a couple more."

Eventually Filatov called and Wrang tabled {A-Hearts}{10-Hearts} for a pair of aces. Filatov showed {7-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} for a set and he raked in this big pot.

Haxton Keeps Firing

Level 5 : 150/300, 25 ante

Ike Haxton was in the hijack and raised to 900. It folded around to Mikael Jean in the big blind and he came along for the ride. The flop fell {J-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{10-Hearts} and Jean tapped the table. Haxton continued for 1,600 and Jean stuck around.

The {5-Clubs} dropped down on fourth street and action checked to Haxton once more. He dropped 6,500 past the betting line, prompting a fold from Jean. Haxton picked up the pot and now has roughly 43,000 to his name.

Jason Mercier
Jason Mercier

Team PokerStars Pro Jason Mercier raised to 600 preflop before Mateusz Zbikowski made it 1,725 behind him. Mercier called to see a {9-Spades}{K-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} flop which both players checked. Mercier fired a 3,600 bet on the {5-Diamonds} turn and Zbikowski made the call to see the {K-Diamonds} on the river.

Mercier now bet 6,300 and Zbikowski thought for several minutes before just calling. Mercier showed {9-Hearts}{7-Hearts} but had to fold when Zbikowski turned over {K-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}.

On the river of a {K-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{7-Hearts} board, Joni Joukimainen moved all in and Gonzalo Tunez tanked for a long time before calling off his last 10,000 or so with {A-Spades}{4-Spades}. Joukimainen, his reputation having clearly proceeded him, turned over {K-Clubs}{6-Clubs} for a full house to win a big pot.
