Cautious Play

Level 21 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

No big clashes in the last twenty minutes. There has been an interesting dynamic between Craig McCorkell and Martin Quack in a couple of hands though. Quack opened from early position for 45,000 and folded to a three-bet from McCorkell. A couple of hands later Quack defended his big blind from a McCorkell open and check-folded on a king high flop.

Leonid Markin is still opening a lot of pots, attempting to rebuild his stack, and has a typical opening 3x bet of 60,000 while the other players seem to favour 45,000.

Behbehani Doubles Through Markin

Level 21 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

Leonid Markin opened to 60,000 from under-the-gun. Salman Behbehani shovd for 334,000 in the seat next to him, everyone else folded and the Russian chip leader made a quick call.

Markin: {A-Hearts}{K-Spades}
Behbehani: {A-Clubs}{A-Diamonds}

The board came a non-threatening {8-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}{2-Spades}{7-Spades} and Behbehani doubled up - though Markin is still chip leader.

McCorkell Wins Huge from Van Hoof

Level 21 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante
Craig McCorkell
Craig McCorkell

Craig McCorkell raised to 45,000 preflop in early position then November Niner Jorryt van Hoof made it 125,000 in the next seat along. McCorkell made the call.

The flop was {A-Spades}{8-Clubs}{J-Diamonds} and McCorkell check-called a 160,000 bet from the Dutch player. McCorkell checked the {7-Diamonds} turn and van Hoof fired out a big bet of 450,000, just under half McCorkell's remaining stack, putting the latter to the test. McCorkell tanked for a minute and then announced "All-in".

Van Hoof folded instantly and tapped the table.

Leonid Markin had been opening a lot of pots and winning the antes and blinds uncontested.

This time when Markin opened for 60,000 and Niall Farrell moved all in from the cut-off. The blinds folded and Markin made the call.

Farrell {j-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}

Markin {a-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}

The cards ran out {8-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{a-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{k-Spades} with the flop shooting Markin into the lead and staying there to bust Farrell.

Fady Kamar
Fady Kamar

In the first hand of the day Philippe D'Auteuil limped from the button and Martin Quack called in the small blind, Fady Kamar checked his option.

The flop was {10-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} and Quack checked, Kamar bet 35,000 and D'Auteuil made the call while Quack folded. The {4-Hearts} came on the turn and Kamar checked the size of the Canadian's remaining chips before betting 70,000 - D'Auteuil quickly folded.
