An Action Packed Day Awaits
With 475 players yesterday on Day 1a, today promises to be a big one. Last year the total amount of entries was 1,234, but the organization expects that to be topped here this year. The Estrellas Main Event had a whopping 2,560 entries which made for the biggest ever PokerStars event. The Main Event won't attract that many players, but it wouldn't surprise us if the entire Room A and Room B will be filled with players today.
The players will be playing eight 75-minute levels, with a dinner break. That means play ends around 11:45 p.m., just like yesterday. Michael Mizrachi was the one doing the most damage yesterday, gathering 186,600 in chips.
A lot of familiar faces will play today, with Daniel Negreanu, Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier, Jason Mercier doing their duty to represent PokerStars. Action starts at noon local time, and you may expect a day filled with updates about big hands, ton of photos from the players and tournament room, and video interviews with all the big names in about five minutes.
