Helppi and Holz Get Into It

Level 17 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante
Fedor Holz
Fedor Holz

Action folded to Fedor Holz on the button, and he raised to 20,000. Juha Helppi called from the big blind, and the flop came down {A-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}. Both players checked, and then they also checked the {6-Hearts} that paired the board on the turn.

The {5-Hearts} completed the board on the river, and Helppi led with a bet of 20,000. Holz put in a raise to 66,000, but Helppi fired right back with a reraise to 120,000. Holz went into the tank and looked a bit confused by the reraise from Helppi. He eventually began mumbling hands out loud that Helppi could possibly have.

"Three-four suited? Ace-six? Six-seven?" he said quietly while thinking.

Eventually, Holz made the call.

Helppi did hold one of the hands Holz had thought about — {7-Spades}{6-Spades} — and he was going to win the pot. Holz showed just the {6-Clubs} from his hand, then mucked the other card.
