Park Seizes the River to Claim the Pot from Ruggeri

Level 27 : 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante

Jaehyung Park opened the action from the hijack with a raise to 120,000, and Umberto Ruggeri defended his big blind with a call.

The flop came 758, and Ruggeri led out with a bet of 130,000. Park wasted no time making the call.

The 7 landed on the turn, and Ruggeri fired again, this time for 225,000. Once more, Park responded with a quick call.

When the river brought the third seven, the 7, Ruggeri shifted gears and checked. Sensing an opportunity, Park slid out a bet of 560,000, a move that represented about half of Ruggeri’s remaining stack.

Ruggeri went into the tank, using a time bank card to deliberate, but ultimately decided to fold. The pot was pushed to Park, whose river aggression paid off.
