Sklenicka Makes Straight to Bust Mahmudi
Michael Sklenicka open-raised to 1,700, Felix Schneiders called on the button, then Burim Mahmudi three-bet to 1,700 from the big blind. Sklenicka and Schneiders both called and three players went to the flop.
The flop ran out Q♠J♦K♥ and Mahmudi continued for 5,000. Sklenicka raised it up to 17,600, Schneiders folded and Mahmudi made the call.
On the A♣ turn, Mahmudi checked and Sklenicka pushed forward a bet of 31,000, which was more than half of his stack. Mahmudi called and left himself a little over 10,000.
The river came the 2♦ and the rest of Mahmudi's chips went in the middle as he bet and Sklenicka moved all in. Mahmudi had A♠K♣ for two pair, but Sklenicka turned over 10♦9♦ for the nut straight to win the pot.
Sklenicka chipped up to nearly 150,000 and Mahmudi was eliminated from the tournament.
