Derk van Luijk opened to 14,000 from middle position, but Martin Kabrhel to his left three-bet to 40,000. All the other players folded to Van Luijk who called.
The dealer fanned a flop of 10♠7♦3♣ where Kabrhel continued for 22,000. Van Luijk check-called.
Kabrhel fired a second barrel of 61,000 on the A♦ turn. Van Luijk check-folded at this point.
Heads-up on a flop of A♠4♣10♣, Teun Mulder in middle position bet 8,000, and snap-called after Niklas Astedt in the big blind check-raised all-in for 46,000.
Niklas Astedt: Q♣5♣
Teun Mulder: A♣8♣
Both players had a flush draw, but Mulder hit the nut flush thanks to the 2♣ turn so Astedt was eliminated after the 4♦ river.
Teun Mulder raised from the hijack, Steve O'Dwyer called on the button, as did Markkos Ladev, in the big blind.
The Q♦10♥3♦ flop checked through to the 2♣ on the turn. Ladev checked again and Mulder placed a delayed continuation of 35,000. O'Dwyer called and Ladev folded.
The 9♥ river saw Mulder move all in, asking for O'Dwyer's effective stack of around 110,000. O'Dwyer folded.
The PokerStars European Poker Tour Prague at the Hilton Prague continues today with the conclusion of the third Super High Roller tournament of the series; the €25,000 Super High Roller Second Chance. A total field of nine was amassed by the end of the night, but with registration still open until the start of play on Day 2, this number is only expected to grow with seven players returning at the start of the day.
Markkos Ladev comes into the start of play with the overall chip lead having converted his starting stack of 250,000 into a final sum of 687,000.
Yesterday’s action saw Ladev take the chip lead in a matter of hands: although Derk van Luijk believed he’d found the dream flop, having made trips, he was only two streets away from finding out Ladev’s pocket pair had also flopped a full house.
Ladev retained this early momentum, ending the day exactly how he started it - the chip leader.
