The preflop action heated up as Alexandru Anuta opened to 600 from under the gun. Ionut Dinu three-bet to 1,600 from the cutoff, and Mehdi Bilem called from the button. After some deliberation, Toni Kaukua four-bet to 4,500 from the big blind. Anuta folded, and Dinu announced all in for 16,200. Bilem folded, and Kaukua called after double-checking his cards.

The board ran out 72K10J, eliminating Dinu as Kaukua claimed the pot with his pocket rockets and increased his stack to nearly double the starting amount.

The pot stood at around 5,000 with two players looking at a board of 5738.

Oleh Pritsak, in the big blind, checked the action to Alexantr Spatharis, in the hijack. Spatharis bet out 3,500 and Pritsak check-raised to 9,500. Spatharis called.

The Q river saw Pritsak move all in, asking for Spatharis' effective stack of approximately 21,000. Spatharis tanked for some time before folding 84 face up.

Day 1b of €1,100 Eureka Main Event Begins at 7 p.m.

The 2024 PokerStars European Poker Tour Prague here at Hilton Prague kicked off today with the €1,100 Eureka Main Event. Day 1a, the first of the six starting flights, got underway this afternoon with its turbo counterpart, Day 1b, set to kick off at 7 p.m.

To surpass last year’s mammoth field of 4,403 entrants was Alexander Tkatschew, who emerged victorious after defeating Remigiusz Wyrzykiewicz heads-up. Tkatschewn claimed the lion's share of the €4,226,880 prize pool, taking home €511,710 for the first-place prize.

Each player will receive a starting stack of 30,000 with the blinds commencing at 100/100 with a 100 big-blind ante. The levels will be 30 minutes long with players allowed to reenter twice per flight. A break of 15 minutes will be held after every four levels. Late registration will close at the end of Level 10 and play will end for the day once the field is reduced to 15% of the total entries. All players who survive into Day 2 are guaranteed to make the money (the prize pool will be announced at the start of Day 2).
