Ruling, Penalty and Bustout Before the Break

Level 6 : Blinds 300/600, 600 ante

Tournament officials had been called to a table for a hand involving Heza Inthachon and Dimitar Iwanov-Petkin.

With the board reading 832QA, Iwanov-Petkin had opened A10 face-up on the table. The dealer had then removed these and placed them in the muck.

"No, I said all-in!" said Iwanov-Petkin. He believed that this all-in had subsequently been called by Inthachon, and therefore he had opened his cards. On the other hand, Inthachon believed that Iwanov-Petkin had thrown his hand away.

In the end, tournament officials ruled that Iwanov-Petkin had tabled his hand in turn, and not mucked it, and therefore it was retrieved from the muck and properly tabled.

Iwanov-Petkin then called and Inthachon's hand 84 was then turned over and he was eliminated. For prematurely opening his cards, Iwanov-Petkin received a one-round penalty.
