Grafton Wins One; Loses Bigger One

Level 11 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
Sam Grafton
Sam Grafton

Sam Grafton opened 20,000, and both Pedro Marques on the button and David Coleman in the big blind made the call.

All three players checked to the J534 turn, where Coleman and Marques both surrendered to a bet of 25,000 from Grafton.

The following hand, Grafton opened under the gun and only Aleksejs Ponakovs came along from the big blind.

The dealer fanned a flop of K73, and Ponakovs check-raised a bet of 20,000 to 52,000. Grafton called.

When the 5 hit the turn, Ponakovs checked and Grafton fired 40,000 across the line. After giving it almost 30 seconds, Ponakovs check-raised once again, this time to 145,000 and Grafton snap-mucked.

Bryn Kenney opened 20,000 in the cutoff and Niklas Astedt defended the big blind.

The dealer fanned a flop of 632, and Astedt took the lead, firing 16,000 into the middle. Kenney called.

The K turn was checked through to see the 6 river. Astedt fired another bullet of 100,000, putting Kenney into the tank. After using a time bank, he made the call to see the bad news as Astedt tabled K6 for a full house.

Shortly after, Kenney was seen walking away from the table as he was eliminated.

Kazuhiko Yotsushika

Kazuhiko Yotsushika opened 17,000 under the gun, and Quan Zhou shoved for 130,000 from a couple of spots to his left. The action folded around to Tsugunari Toma in the small blind who called off his remaining stack of 63,000 before Yotsushika dropped as stack of chips to make the call.

Quan Zhou: AK
Kazuhiko Yotsushika: AA

The JJ10 flop gave Zhou a gutshot straight draw but the 10 turn and 4 river were no help for either player as Yotsushika scored the double knockout.
