Niklas Åstedt

Chris Brewer opened from early position to 100,000. Action folded around to Markkos Ladev who called on the button. Niklas Astedt reraised all in for 1,375,000. Brewer deployed a time bank before announcing all in for around 2,500,000. Ladev snap-folded leaving Astedt and Brewer to show down.

Niklas Astedt: 1010
Chris Brewer: AK

Brewer took the lead on the 7JK flop leaving Astedt drawing to two tens. The turn Q presented Astedt with an open ended straight draw which increased his outs. However Brewer's top pair top kicker held on the 6 river. Astedt tapped the table before departing from the tournament.

Markkos Ladev opened 130,000 in early position, and Aleksejs Ponakovs defended the big blind.

The dealer spread a flop of KQ10, and Ponakovs checked before Ladev dropped a stack of greens for a bet of 500,000 into the middle. Ponakovs called off his remaining 210,000, and both hands were tossed face up.

Aleksejs Ponakovs: K9
Markkos Ladev: KK

The Q turn improved Ladev to a full house as Ponakovs stood up from the table, and the 9 completed the board on the river.

Dvoress Eliminated by Brewer's Full House

Level 16 : Blinds 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante
Daniel Dvoress
Daniel Dvoress

Right after Daniel Dvoress found a double with a straight, he was right back in the action as Chris Brewer opened 60,000 on the button, and he three-bet 415,000 from the small blind. Brewer made the call.

Both players checked to the river on the 766QK board, where Dvoress checked once more before Brewer dropped a chip across the line. Dvoress only had 15,000 remaining and went into the tank. "This might take awhile," he said.

After using multiple time banks, he made the call. Brewer tabled KK for a full house, and Dvoress showed A5 as he left the table.

Brewer Wins a Flip to Eliminate Pardo

Level 16 : Blinds 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante
Juan Pardo
Juan Pardo

Chris Brewer raised 60,000 in the hijack and Juan Pardo three-bet to 220,000 from the small blind. Brewer announced a re-raise to 850,000, and Pardo snap-jammed for about 900,000. Brewer called and both hands were on their backs.

Chris Brewer: AK
Juan Pardo: QQ

It was a classic race but the K103 gave Brewer the best hand with a pair of kings. Pardo couldn't find one of the last queens in the deck to stay alive as the 7 fell on the turn, and the 3 on the river.

Santhosh Suvarna
Santhosh Suvarna

Action folded to Niklas Astedt on the button who opened to 55,000. Santhosh Suvarna reraised all in for around 200,000. His stack had taken a significant hit in the previous hand where he lost with A8 against Thomas Santerne's A9 on J754J.
The big blind folded and Astedt made the call.

Santhosh Suvarna: AQ
Niklas Astedt: K7

Astedt went ahead on the K46 flop. Suvarna turned the Q giving him additional outs against Astedt's top pair. Suvarna's exit was confirmed on the 3 river and Astedt took a small but meaningful pot.

Brewer Nearly Doubles; Grafton Eliminated

Level 15 : Blinds 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante
Chris Brewer
Chris Brewer

Stephen Chidwick raised 50,000 on the button, and Chris Brewer defended the big blind.

The dealer fanned a flop of 544, and Brewer check-raised the continuation bet of 30,000 to 90,000. Chidwick called.

The 2 fell on the turn, and Brewer continued for 105,000. Chidwick called once again.

When the J landed on the river, Brewer pushed almost all of his chips across the line for a bet of 240,000, leaving just 15,000 behind. Chidwick went deep into the tank and eventually tossed in the call. Brewer rolled over 63 for a straight, and Chidwick mucked his hand.

At the other table, Sam Grafton was unfortunate to run his ace-jack into pocket aces preflop, and couldn't pull ahead as he was eliminated from the tourament.

The action folded around to Sirzat Hissou in the small blind and he announced all-in. Pedro Marques was in the big blind with roughly 250,000. After using a time bank, he reluctantly called.

Pedro Marques: K6
Sirzat Hissou: 96

Astedt Busts Greenwood

Level 14 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
Niklas Åstedt
Niklas Åstedt

Action folded to Niklas Astedt who opened the button to 100,000. Sam Greenwood reraised from the small blind to 210,000. Astedt then four-bet jammed all in for around 1,100,000.

Greenwood went deep into the tank as he spread his time banks across the table, flicking one by one in after his given time had elapsed. After deploying four, he put in a chunk of chips to make the call for his tournament life.

Sam Greenwood: 1010
Niklas Astedt: KK

The JA2 flop left Greenwood drawing to two tens or a runner-runner straight. The 6 turn was no good for Greenwood, nor was the Q river, which eliminated him from the tournament and leaving Astedt with a big pot.
