Ladev Triples Up, Again

Markkos Ladev jammed all in for his final 65,000 chips from the hijack. Pieter Aerts then limped in from the small blind for 80,000 and Markkos Ladev checked his big blind.

Aerts and Ladev then checked through the entire board of 10♦4♥6♥A♠4♦ and all three players had to show down. Aerts showed 9♥8♦ for nine-high, which Santerne had beaten with his Q♠7♥ for queen-high.

However, Ladev had the best hand with K♥5♥ for king-high, resulting in another triple-up for the Estonian.

France is poker crazy and has produced some of the biggest names in the industry, such as Bertrand Grospellier and Antoine Saout, so it has been quite the surprise to see the "tricolore" omitted from the PokerStars Team Pro roster over the last few years.

However, at the 2024 European Poker Tour stop in Paris, PokerStars' search for the face for their French expansion finally ended with the latest addition to the team.

Santerne Wins Round Three

Thomas Santerne opened the action with a raise to 160,000 as first to act, receiving a call from his neighbor Duco ten Haven. Pieter Aerts also called in the big blind and the three saw a flop of Q♣4♦9♥.

It checked to Ten Haven, who fired a small bet of 150,000. Aerts quickly mucked but Santerne stuck around and called. On the 9♦ turn, Ten Haven sized up to 650,000 chips, but it was not enough to deter Santerne from making another call.

Santerne then led out for 450,000 on the K♣ river, resulting in a snap fold from his opponent. Santerne won the pot and took over the chip lead from Brewer as a result.

With Markkos Ladev automatically all-in in the big blind for 35,000 chips, Chris Brewer opened to 160,000 from the hijack. Duco ten Haven came along in the small blind to create a side pot.

Brewer grew that side pot when he made a bet of 90,000 on the 10♠4♣3♣ board, which Ten Haven check-called. On the K♣ turn, both players checked before Ten Haven led out for the minimum of 80,000 on the J♥ river.

A quick fold followed by Brewer, and Ten Haven showed A♦J♣ to rake in the side pot. However, his pair was not high enough to eliminate Ladev, as he played K♥6♦ for top pair and tripled up to just over one big blind.

Action folded to Markkos Ladev who opened the button to 130,000. Chris Brewer defended the big blind.

He checked the A♠7♠3♦ flop to Ladev, who bet 200,000. Brewer made the call. He then decided to lead the 6♥ turn for 200,000. Ladev took a moment before reraising to 400,000. Brewer then checked the 6♣ river. Ladev deployed two time banks before betting 550,000, which was almost all in.

Brewer went deep into the tank, opting to use two time banks. Two more time banks go by before he said "I really think you are bluffing." Ladev remained motionless as Brewer burned three more before finding the call. Ladev showed J♥10♥ for jack high and Brewer tabled 7♦5♠ for two pair.

The 5♦K♥A♥ flop and J♣ were checked by both before Santerne led out for 275,000 on the K♦ river.

Ten Haven deployed one time bank card before tossing in a call. Santerne showed 9♠4♦ for nine-high, which Ten Haven had outclassed with his K♣6♠ for rivered trips.
