Canelli Shows a Jack in Lengthy Pot
Level 17
: Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante
Andrea Canelli raised to 13,000 in early position as action folded to Jonathan Abiteboul on the button. Abiteboul had around 60,000 remaining and pretended to speak on his phone as he tanked.
"Battery's dead," he joked as he picked up his cards high enough that table neighbor Raoul van Wersch could see them. Abiteboul eventually folded after several minutes as action went on van Wersch, who three-bet to 48,000. Parker Talbot exposed the K♠ as he mucked, while Canelli called.
The flop came 9♣3♦J♦ and van Wersch continued for 28,000. Canelli took his time before raising to 56,000. "I guess I have to fold after that card was shown," van Wersch said as he flashed the K♣. Canelli showed him the J♥ as he took the pot.
