Pereira Rebounds After Parys Gets Value
On the penultimate hand before the break, Maxime Parys opened to 16,000 from early positon. Derk van Luijk and Antonio Pereira called from middle position and the cutoff.
Rania Nasreddine briefly thought about her options in the small blind before making a "disciplined fold" that was "the best fold of the day." Daniel Novak also folded in the big blind.
The 8♦6♣3♥ flop checked through to the J♣ turn and Parys bet 50,000. Both opponents called.
The 7♠ river completed the board and Parys sized up to 120,000 after using up a time bank. Van Luijk got out of the way before Pereira went into the tank. He had 165,000 and after using a time bank, he called.
Parys tabled A♦A♠ and Pereira mucked.
The next deal, Parys raised and then called when Pereira put in the rest of his chips. Pereira had an ace which remained ahead of Parys' J♠9♠ as the board ran out with the 10♥7♦4♣5♣5♦.
