Merelli Gets Away With a Big Bluff; Turchi Smacks the Flop to Double

Level 23 : Blinds 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante

Alessandro Merelli and Hugo Machado built a pot of around 200,000 as they went heads-up to the turn on a board of 599A. Machado then bet 170,000 from under the gun and Merelli called in the small blind.

The river was the 4 and Merelli led out for 500,000. Machado snap-folded and Merelli showed QJ for a bluff as he took the pot.

At the same time at another table, Virgile Turchi was all in for 285,000 from the big blind and was up against Razvan Scutaru on the button.

Razvan Scutaru: QQ

The flop came K65 and Turchi not only hit top pair, he also picked up a flush draw. The turn was the 2, while the 7 river improved him to a flush and earned him a double up.
