Ponakovs Cracks Martirosian

Level 15 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Aleksejs Ponakovs
Aleksejs Ponakovs

Aleksejs Ponakovs opened to 24,000 from the hijack, and was called by Artur Martirosian in the cutoff. Short-stacked Teun Mulder then three-bet jammed for 45,000 from the small blind.

Ponakovs asked Martirosian how much he had behind, and on being informed the amount was 347,000, he immediately four-bet jammed with the covering stack. Martirosian made the quick call to create a three-way all-in scenario.

Teun Mulder: KJ All in
Artur Martirosian: K10 All in
Aleksejs Ponakovs: KJ

Mulder and Ponakovs were ahead, and although a chop seemed possible, the J82 flop put Mulder and Ponakovs ahead with a pair of jacks.

The 4A turn and river were bricks, sending Martirosian to the rail, while Mulder had to settle for chopping the main pot with Ponakovs.

Ponakovs was the happy man however, as he won the real prize, the chunky 302,000 side pot versus Martirosian, and the bounty token.

Fritz Finds an Ace to Double Up

Level 15 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

Alexander Zubov and Manuel Fritz in the blinds appeared to have gotten their chips into the middle, with Fritz's stack of 279,000 at risk.

Manuel Fritz: A7 All in
Alexander Zubov: 88

Fritz flopped best on A3Q, taking a huge lead with his top pair. Zubov did not find an eight on the 3 turn and 5 river, and he consequently doubled up his neighbor.

Suvarna Doubles Up, Eliminates Malinov, Leaves Mulder on Fumes

Level 15 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Santhosh Suvarna
Santhosh Suvarna

Santhosh Suvarna made a raise to 29,000 under the gun. Teun Mulder called on the button before big blind Atanas Malinov moved in for 31,000. Both players called and a flop of 734 was spread.

Suvarna bet 23,000 into the dry side pot and Mulder called. The 6 turn saw Suvarna size up to 55,000, which Mulder raised to 255,000. Suvarna counted his chips and then put in a call, leaving 104,000 back.

He then led all-in once the K river fell. Mulder sighed before throwing in a calling chip, after which all three were forced to table their cards.

Suvarna showed A7 for the nut flush. Mulder played 53 for a straight while Malinov's flopped set with 44 was also bested. Malinov took his exit while Mulder was left with just over five big blinds.

Mulder Gets Revenge On Martirosian

Level 15 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

Arriving at the tail end of a pot between Artur Martirosian in the big blind and Teun Mulder under the gun, on a completed board of 33J5K, Martirosian put Mulder all-in for 145,000.

With 190,000 already in the pot, Mulder snap-called and turned over KK for top full house. Martirosian flashed his cards to the table briefly before mucking and paying Mulder his exact double up.

Zubov Spikes River to Finish Off Franco

Level 15 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

Alexander Zubov opened to 20,000 from early position, and was faced with a three-bet jam to 175,000 from Sonny Franco in the next seat. Action folded back to Zubov, who made the call with the covering stack.

Sonny Franco: 1010 All in
Alexander Zubov: A3

Franco looked in good shape for a double-up versus a single overcard, and he seemed set to take the pot after the 884 flop and 7 turn.

However the A rolled off on the river in cruel fashion to send Franco to the rail.

Former Leader Lin Short After Doubling Betbese

Level 14 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Nicolas Betbese had committed his stack of 115,000 from the hijack and was looked up by start-of-day chipleader Ren Lin in the hijack.

Nicolas Betbese: A5 All in
Ren Lin: JJ

Betbese was an underdog but flopped best on 76A. The 2 turn did not improve Lin, and the A river gave Betbese trips to finalize his double-up.

"Now everybody is looking at me," Lin concluded as he was left with 12 big blinds.

Malinov Secures Triple Up as Martirosian Damages Mulder

Level 14 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Short-stacked Atanas Malinov moved all in from early position for 37,000, before Artur Martirosian three-bet jammed to 219,000 from the button.

Teun Mulder was in the big blind, and he asked for a count, before also making the call, covering both players and creating a three-way all-in situation.

Atanas Malinov: AA All in
Artur Martirosian: A2 All in
Teun Mulder: K6

Malinov had woken up with rockets at the perfect time, and his triple up was confirmed by the Q98108 runout.

Martirosian was consoled with taking the chunky side pot of 364,000, with his ace-high good enough versus Mulder's king-high.
