The €550 No-Limit Hold’em Womens Event With Unlimited Reentries Kicks Off at 12:30 PM

The 2024 PokerStars European Poker Tour Barcelona continues today with the €550 No-Limit Hold’em Womens Event at Casino Barcelona. This two-day tournament, featuring unlimited reentries, begins at 12:30 p.m. local time.

Players will begin the two-day event with 30,000 in chips. Unlimited reentries are allowed, and late registration will remain open for the first ten levels. Blinds last 30 minutes each, with 20-minute breaks after Levels 4, 7, 10, 18, 22, and 26. A 75-minute dinner break is scheduled at the end of Level 14, around 8:30 p.m.

Today's plan is to play down until 15% of the field remains. Those who get there will bag their stacks and return for Day 2, where everyone will be in the money, although this is subject to change.

Those who make it to Day 2 will return at noon local time on Saturday, September 7. From there, the remaining players will play down until a winner is crowned, becoming an EPT Champion and claiming the prestigious PokerStars spade trophy that comes with the title.

Okamoto is the First Bustout

Level 1 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante

Shiina Okamoto raised from the button to 500 and Jerome Gras three-bet out of the small blind to 1,300. Okamoto called.

Gras bet 1,500 on the A♦Q♠8♠ flop and Okamoto called.

The 9♣ turn saw Gras bet again and Okamoto call again, this time for 2,700.

When the 3♠ came on the river Gras bet 5,500 and was met by a raise to 14,000 by Okamoto, after a few moments, Gras shoved for Okamoto's remaining 15,000. Okamoto reluctantly called.

Gras turned over A♠K♠ for the nut flush to win the pot and bust Okamoto, who turned over 7♠6♠ for an inferior flush.

Spragg Doubles With Two Pair

Level 4 : Blinds 200/500, 500 ante

On a flop of 10♣8♣A♦, Amanda Kizelevicius bet 1,600 from under the gun. Marle Spragg called in the seat to her left and Eniko Rosta folded out of the big blind.

Kizelevicius bet 3,500 when the 2♦ appeared on the turn and was met by a raise to 7,000 by Spragg. Kizelevicius called.

After Kizelevicius checked the 3♠ river, Spragg shoved for roughly 20,000 and Kizelevicius snap-called.

Spragg showed A♣2♣ for two pair, aces and deuces to win the pot, as Kizelevicius turned over A♠J♠ for just a pair of aces.

Jen Shahade raised from the cutoff to 1,600 and Tatiana Kropaneva defended out of the big blind.

Kropaneva led out for 1,500 on the 2♣J♥9♦ flop and Shahade called.

The 9♣ came on the turn and Kropaneva chose to check-call a bet of 4,000 from Shahade.

Both players checked the K♦ river. Kropaneva turned over 8♦2♦ for a pair of deuces, which was second best to the J♦10♥ of Shahade for a pair of jacks

Estrada bet 5,000 on the Q♣Q♦J♣ flop and Rosta called.

The A♣ came on the turn and Estrada fired another bet, this time for 10,000. Rosta called.

Estrada shoved for 25,000 on the 2♦ river and Rosta reluctantly called.

Estrada showed J♦J♥ for a flopped full house, queens full of jacks to win the pot.

Isabella Goncalves raised from the button 4,000. Maria Ortiz called on the button, and Migle Kriksciunaite defended out of the big blind.

After it checked to Goncalves on the K♣3♠7♦ flop, she fired out a bet of 5,000 which only Ortiz called.

The turn came the 2♣. Goncalves bet 10,000 and Ortiz called again.

Goncalves put out a bet of 35,000 on the 10♦ river and a fold from Ortiz, who showed A♣3♣ for a pair and a flush draw on the turn. Goncalves was kind enough to show K♦K♠ for top set of kings as she dragged in the pot.

The action was caught with the flop showing K♣Q♥6♣. Yun-Ying Jheng bet 20,000 from under the gun and faced a shove of 136,500 from Anna Gulevich in the cutoff. Maria Ortiz folded from the big blind and after getting a count from the dealer, Jheng made the call.

Gulevich had flopped top two pair and was ahead of Jheng's pocket aces. The K♠ on the turn improved Gulevich to a full house and she just had to avoid an ace on the river to double up. The river came the 5♠ and Gulevich had cracked the aces of Jheng.

Eva Slovikova raised to 6,000 under the gun. Shira Scharo, Chien-Chih Weng, and Marle Spragg called.

The four players saw a flop of J♠8♣7♦, Spragg checked from the big blind and Slovikova bet 10,000. Scharo and Weng folded, but Spragg shoved for 41,000, and Slovikova called.

Both players had top pair, but Slovikova's kicker was better. Spragg needed a four or some running cards to stay alive. However, the 5♥ turn and 2♣ river didn't help Spragg, meaning she was sent to the rail.

Goncalves' Set Goes Down to Waldau's Straight

The action was caught on the turn with around 40,000 in the pot. The board showed 7♦Q♠J♥3♠ and Joy Waldau had bet 20,000 from early position. Isabella Goncalves then raised to 60,000 on the button. Waldau thought for a few moments before making the call.

When the 9♥ came on the river Waldau shoved for Goncalves' remaining 60,000. Goncalves went deep into the tank, thinking for almost three minutes. Eventually, she settled on a call.

Waldau turned over K♦10♦ for the nut straight to win the pot, as Goncalves turned over J♦J♠ for a set of jacks.

Olga Iermolcheva opened from under the gun to 12,000 and Alsina Bonastre raised from her direct left to 32,000. Action folded around to Maria Ortiz in the big blind who moved all in. Iermolcheva considered her option and called the shove, as did Bonastre, taking the players three-ways to the K♠7♣9♣ flop.

Action was checked to the 3♣ turn and 8♣ river and the players were left to flip their hands.
