Beresford Baffled Then Busted by Winz
After Berthold Winz opened in the hijack to 17,000, Conor Beresford moved all in for about 135,000 from the big blind.
A misunderstanding of communication led Beresford to think that Winz had folded his cards as Winz showed 8♠6♦, but with Beresford still holding his cards and about to muck them, Winz insisted that he said "call" with the raggedy holding, saying he thought he had pocket eights.
Beresford seemed stunned but placed his holding on the table as well and he was now at risk, but ahead.
Conor Beresford: A♠10♥
Berthold Winz: 8♠6♦
The flop came 4♣3♠2♥ adding a gutshot straight draw to Winz's list of outs.
One of them came in on the turn with the 6♥, leaving Beresford drawing to an ace or a ten.
The Q♦ on the river was neither of those and after the confusing hand, Beresford was surprised to be heading to the rail after thinking he was picking up some chips with the bubble approaching.
