Suvarna Snaps Off Margereson

Santhosh Suvarna and Scott Margereson were already on the river with the board showing 10♠9♥K♠K♥5♣ when Margereson moved all in for 70,000 from the hijack. Suvarna called in the cutoff.

Margereson showed A♠3♠ for a missed flush draw and Suvarna turned over Q♦J♦ for a straight as Margereson headed for the rail.

Barbero Raises Shylko on the River

Nacho Barbero raised to 6,000 in the cutoff and was called by Matthew Wantman on the button and small blind Ian Bradley. Aliaksandr Shylko then three-bet to 30,000 in the big blind and only Barbero called.

Shylko continued for 15,000 on the K♣8♥8♦ flop and Barbero called. Both players then checked the 2♦ turn.

The river was the 6♣ and Shylko led out for another 11,000. Barbero then raised to 60,000 and Shylko called.

Barbero turned over K♦10♦ for two pair and Shylko mucked.

Niklas Astedt took his seat at this table while this hand was in progress. Barbero congratulated Astedt on his recent run in the WSOP Main Event as Astedt then teased him about losing to Shylko in the PSPC last year.

"He's a good guy, though," Barbero said.

Kaverman led for 2,500 on the Q♠J♥3♠ flop, which Lyall called. Kaverman fired again on the A♦ turn and Lyall called again. The 9♠ river was checked around. Kaverman tabled Q♥6♣ and Lyall showed Q♣2♦ for a chopped pot.

Byron Kaverman opened the cutoff to 5,500 and then called when Andrew Chen three-bet to 22,000 from the big blind.

On the 10♥10♦3♣ flop, Chen led for 25,000 and Kaverman called.

Chen slowed down on the 9♥ turn as he check-called a 17,000 bet from Kaverman.

The river brought the K♦. Chen checked again and Kaverman used a time bank before he bet around 86,000, leaving one 500 chip behind, and Chen quickly released.

Wang checked the 4♥7♥8♣ flop to Watson, who moved all in for 25,000. Taylor made the call before Suvarna reraised to 60,000. Wang folded quickly. With Watson all in, Taylor elected to deploy four time banks before finding the fold. Suvarna and Watson showed down.

Teun Mulder opened the hijack to 5,000, Sam Grafton three-bet to 22,000 from the small blind, and Mulder four-bet jammed as the covering stack for 115,000 effective. Grafton was uncomfortable but he shrugged as he called it off.

"Aggressive," remarked Mulder as the 5♥4♠3♦ flop was a safe one for him as his ace-king remained in the lead.

Grafton called for a heart on the turn but he got an even better card as the 10♠ peeled off and he stayed ahead on the board-completing 9♥.

The table had a laugh at Grafton's loose call-off as he defended himself, "You've got to gamble to win."
