Palma Gets Paid

Level 13 : Blinds 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

Nick Palma opened from middle position and Martin Zamani defended his big blind.

The two went heads-up to a K88 flop which saw Palma continue for 3,000. Zamani responded with a check-raise to 11,500 and Palma put in the call.

Zamani did not slow down on the A turn as he barreled for 11,000, but Palma stuck around.

The Q peeled off on the river. Zamani led with a 2,500 block and Palma used a time bank before he put out a raise to 44,000, sending Zamani into the tank.

"I think you have to have eights full," explained Zamani shortly before he put in the call.

Palma did not have eights full, but he tabled J10 for the nut straight and Zamani mucked as Palma raked in a large pot.
