Patrick Kennedy and Ka Kwan Lau Lead 15 Players into Final Day of €10,200 Pot-Limit Omaha
The final day of Event #40: €10,200 Pot-Limit Omaha is set to begin at noon local time here at the PokerStars European Poker Tour (EPT) Barcelona hosted by Casino Barcelona. Only 15 players from a field of 106 entrants found a bag by the end of Day 1, one of whom will take home the trophy and lion’s share of the €1,028,200 prize pool by the end of play today.
Patrick Kennedy holds the current chip lead after finishing Day 1 with an impressive 850,000 in chips, a stack worth 70 big blinds. Kennedy is most closely followed by Ka Kwan Lau (716,000) and Mike Watson (538,000).
Lau is no stranger to tournament success with just over $6,000,000 in career tournament earnings. Given that two of his three best scores were in high-stakes Pot-Limit Omaha events, Lau finds himself in an excellent position to capture his third win at the European Poker Tour in today's event. Lau first won a €10,300 PLO event at EPT Malta for €107,670 before taking down the €10,300 No-Limit Hold'em High Roller just last year at EPT Barcelona for € 910,400, his second-largest tournament score.
