Hartigan Talks Player Dynamics and "Holy Shit" Moments as The Big Game on Tour Returns

It's official. After its return in 2023 following a 12-year hiatus, PokerStars has confirmed that The Big Game on Tour is back again this year, with more episodes to be filmed at the NAPT Las Vegas festival.

Ten episodes of the show were filmed last year, with the likes of Phil Hellmuth, Maria Ho, Lex Veldhuis and Sam Grafton all taking part. The show features a lucky Loose Cannon who receives $50,000 and has to survive 150 hands playing $50/$100 with a table of poker pros, ambassadors, and celebrities.

PokerNews spoke with Big Game on Tour judge and commentator James Hartigan ahead of the show's return, and he says he's thrilled the show is back.

In a limped pot between the blinds, Parker Talbot bet 1,200,000 on the flop of 4♣2♠A♦ and Sylvain Berthelot called.

Talbot bet 1,700,000 on the K♦ turn and Berthelot called. Talbot then sized down to 1,200,000 on the K♣ river and Berthelot raised to 7,000,000. Talbot called.

Berthelot showed K♠10♥ for trips and Talbot mucked in defeat.

Parker Talbot opened 3,000,000 in the cutoff, and quickly folded to a jam from Martin Zamani in the small blind.

The following hand, Zamani opened 3,000,000 on the button and the table mucked their hands.

The next hand, Zamani jammed in the cutoff and everyone folded once again.

Following that hand, the table gave Zamani a walk in the big blind.

Zamani didn't slow down as the following hand he moved all in from the small blind, forcing Santiago Nadal to fold the big blind.

Zamani took the lead on the flop of 3♠8♣K♦ and gave Nadal a handshake to try to turn his luck around. It worked as the 5♠ landed on the turn to put Nadal in front before the J♥ river bricked off to earn him another double as his rail cheered in excitement.

The A♠10♠9♦ flop gave Nadal a gutshot straight draw, but he was still ahead with jack-high. The 2♠ fell on the turn, giving Zamani a pair to take the lead as Nadal leaned over and shook his hand. However, the 7♦ river resulted in the rail exploding as Nadal doubled up.
