Adams and Ponakovs Short on Time

Level 1 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante
Timothy Adams
Timothy Adams

Timothy Adams opened to 2,500 from under the gun and was called by Aleksejs Ponakovs in the hijack and Daniel Dvoress in the small blind. The flop came {j-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} and the action checked to Ponakovs who bet 3,000. Dvoress called and Adams check-raised to 15,000. Ponakovs called and Dvoress stepped aside.

The {5-Diamonds} landed on the turn and Adams put together a bet of 34,500 after using a time bank. Ponakovs also used a time bank and decided to just call.

The river was the {10-Diamonds} and Adams used another time bank before making a bet of 28,000. Ponakovs burned through two of his time banks and then raised to 135,000. Adams had one time bank remaining and used nearly all of his time before flicking in a call.

Ponakovs turned over {q-Spades}{q-Diamonds} but Adams flopped a set with {8-Spades}{8-Clubs} to scoop a monster pot in the opening level. Neither player has any time banks remaining but will get receive an additional one at the start of each level.
