The largest non-Barcelona Main Event in the illustrious history of the PokerStars European Poker Tour takes a massive step toward crowing its inaugural champion at EPT Paris 2023 Thursday, as the remaining field of 174 will be thinned significantly on its road to the finish line.
Those returning to the Hyatt Regency Paris Etoile for Day 3 of the €5,300 Main Event have already locked up a five-figure payday of €10,650, but the meat of the huge €7,708,800 prize pool from 1,606 entries awaits, with the winner taking home an incredible €1,170,000 on Saturday.
But first thing’s first, get through another day of intense poker action, build your stack for that sprint to the final table, and set yourself up for a chance at victory.
The player who’s built his stack the best thus far is Ukraine’s Rostyslav Sabishchenko, who will enter Day 3 with the chip lead of 900,000, good for 180 big blinds. With his first EPT cash locked up, the Ukrainian will have a litany of established professionals hot on his heels as he tries to build toward Day 4.
Right behind Sabishchenko are Harry Lodge with 845,000 chips and Niklas Astedt with 812,000. Fabrice Bigot (764,000), Alexandros Kolonias (653,000), and Andrew Lichtenberger (631,000) are also right there, and those are just players inside the top 10.
