Back-To-Back All-Ins before the Break

With a minute left before the break would start, Pascal Frezza opened from middle position to 16,000. His left-hand neighbor Andrea Campi was short-stacked and went all-in for 35,000. The action folded back to Frezza, who asked for a count and quickly called when he saw how much more it was.

The dealer put out . Frezza made trips while Campi got stuck on the underpair, resulting in his exit from the tournament.

On the next table over, a pot was brewing between Vladimir Lappo and Wuai-Cheng Tsang. The board read and big blind Tsang had check-raised the 60,000 bet from button Lappo to put him all-in for 198,000 total. Lappo went into the tank for his tournament life while the rest of the players trickled out of the room on their break. Eventually Lappo called with for top pair but saw the bad news when Tsang tabled for flopped trips.

The river did not bring the miracle Lappo was hoping for, and he was the last player to seek the cashout desk before the break. Meanwhile Tsang happily stacked Lappo's chips as he moves up in the chip counts with what is now a seven-figure stack.
