Chidwick Binks River to Survive

Level 18 : Blinds 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante

Daniel Dvoress raised to 50,000 under the gun and Stephen Chidwick just called from the big blind, leaving 50,000 chips behind. The flop came {10-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} and the two players got the last of the chips in the middle.

Stephen Chidwick: {a-Diamonds}{7-Spades}
Daniel Dvoress: {a-Hearts}{k-Clubs}

Dvoress was in a dominating position but Chidwick picked up a straight draw on the flop. The {2-Diamonds} changed nothing on the turn but the {9-Spades} on the river gave Chidwick a straight to avoid elimination.

Stee O'Dwyer

Adrian Mateos raised it up to 40,000 in the cutoff and Steve O'Dwyer moved all in for around 335,000 in the small blind. Mateos asked for a rough count before making the call to put O'Dwyer at risk.

Steve O'Dwyer: {a-Hearts}{j-Spades}
Adrian Mateos: {6-Spades}{6-Hearts}

They were off to the races and the flop of {4-Spades}{4-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} left Mateos in the lead with a full house. The {8-Spades} on the turn and the {q-Diamonds} on the river both missed O'Dwyer who was ousted in fifth place.

Justin Saliba Eliminated in 6th Place (€65,900)

Level 17 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
Justin Saliba
Justin Saliba

Adrian Mateos raised to 40,000 in the hijack and Justin Saliba just called from the big blind. The flop fell {10-Spades}{6-Spades}{2-Hearts} and Salibe check-called a bet of 55,000 from Mateos.

The turn brought the {5-Hearts} and Saliba checked again. Mateos sized up a bet of 150,000 this time and Saliba stuck around to see the {10-Diamonds} on the river.

Saliba checked and Mateos used a time bank before sliding out a stack of 500,000. Saliba looked back at his cards and then called off his last 240,000 chips. Mateos showed {j-Spades}{j-Hearts} while Saliba was forced to show {7-Spades}{7-Hearts} before leaving the table.

Mateos Keeps Applying Pressure

Level 17 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

Daniel Dvoress raised to 45,000 in the cutoff and Adrian Mateos slid out a three-bet to 120,000 on the button. The blinds folded and Dvoress was also forced to muck his cards.

On the next hand, Mateos opened to 40,000 and Stephen Chidwick defended from the big blind on the short stack. The flop came {4-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} and Chidwick check-called a bet of 25,000 from Mateos.

The {3-Hearts} paired the board on the turn and Chidwick checked again. Mateos counted out a bet of 90,000 and Chidwick used up one of his time banks before mucking his cards.

Bubble Play Lasts One Hand

Level 16 : Blinds 10,000/15,000, 15,000 ante
Sirzat Hissou
Sirzat Hissou

The exit of Felipe Ketzer brought around the money bubble. The hand after the Brazilian's departure, Sirzat Hissou opened to 40,000 from under the gun. Daniel Dvoress used up a time bank card before making it 87,000. Action folded back to Hissou, and as his shot clock was about to hit zero, he moved all in for around 160,000 and was snap-called.

Sirzat Hissou: {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs}
Daniel Dvoress: {q-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}

It was a classic race that Dvoress would take by the reigns after remaining ahead on the {10-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{4-Hearts} flop and {7-Spades} turn. A picture card appeared on the river, but the {q-Spades} gave Dvoress a set and the check mark.

The remaining six players are now in the money and have secured a payday of at least €65,900.

Mateos Wins a "Big Flip" to Eliminate Ketzer

Level 16 : Blinds 10,000/15,000, 15,000 ante
Felipe Ketzer
Felipe Ketzer

Adrian Mateos raised to 30,000 in the hijack and Felipe Ketzer just pushed all in for 410,000 in the big blind. Mateos asked for a count and shrugged his shoulder as he dropped in the chips to call.

Felipe Ketzer: {8-Hearts}{8-Clubs}
Adrian Mateos: {a-Diamonds}{q-Spades}

It was a huge coin flip and the flop of {k-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{7-Hearts} also gave Mateos a straight draw. The {q-Clubs} on the turn paired up for Mateos and he held on through the {2-Diamonds} on the river.

"Big flip," Mateos said as he raked in another massive pot as the chip leader.

Juan Pardo
Juan Pardo

Daniel Dvoress opened to 35,000 from the hijack, and Steve O'Dwyer called from the small blind. Juan Pardo announced all-in for 268,000 from the big blind. Dvoress then jammed as the bigger stack and O'Dwyer folded.

Juan Pardo: {9-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}
Daniel Dvoress: {10-Hearts}{10-Clubs}

Pardo's pair was pipped by Dvoress and he failed to improve on the {q-Spades}{7-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} runout and was eliminated.
