Haxton Next to Bust; Vaskaboinikau Hits Aces and Chidwick Takes Last Few Chips

Action folded around to Isaac Haxton, who raised from the small blind. Mikalai Vaskaboinikau reraised all in from the big blind and Haxton called. Vaskaboinikau had the slightly shorter stack and so was the player at risk, although for both players the hand basically represented their tournament life.

Vaskaboinikau was way out ahead with his pocket aces. The board ran out 6♦4♣J♠9♣10♥ and Vaskaboinikau held. That reduced Haxton's stack to less than one big blind.

A couple of hands later, Timothy Adams raised to 18,000 from early position and Haxton called for his last 3,000 chips. Stephen Chidwick called in the small blind to play for a side pot against Adams.

The flop came 7♦Q♣6♣ and both players checked. The turn was the 3♠ and Chidwick led out for 13,000. Adams folded and Chidwick and Haxton flipped their cards.

Chidwick had a pair of queens and Haxton needed a king on the river. The river came the 9♦ and Chidwick held. Haxton was eliminated in 20th place.
